At the season's peak, St. Tropez fizzes with glamour and excitement as the rich and famous in their floating palaces waft in for the summer. Out of season, St. Tropez is a completely different place; the streets regain their quiet charm, the harbour empties and cafés and restaurants are returned to the locals.
This beautiful marina development was built in the 60's on reclaimed land and it is well known for its restaurants and its Venetian style canals, and of course, boats and yachts.
Fabulous views over the Gulf of St. Tropez, great open-air restaurants, wonderfully evocative bijou cottages - simply magical.
Not to be confused with Port Grimaud, only four miles away from Parc Oasis, the hilltop village of Grimaud offers amazing views all round, epecially from the ramparts of the old ruined castle.
Another hilltop town with lovely views. Great restaurants, though not necessarily cheap.
When Formula 1 comes to Monaco, the atmosphere is electric. The noise, excitement and drama can all be experienced close-up.
The beautiful Gorges du Verdon with its spectacular scenery and villages is about 2 hours drive away.
